Get started with HubCast

Install HubCast in your HubSpot Portal.

What is HubCast?

HubCast lets you broadcast rich, formatted messages directly onto your HubSpot CRM records. Your team sees the right information at the right time — no browser extensions, no external tools, everything lives natively inside HubSpot.

Step 1: Install HubCast

  1. Visit the HubCast listing on the HubSpot Marketplace and click Install App.
  2. Select the HubSpot portal you'd like to install HubCast into.
  3. Review the requested permissions and click Connect app.

Once installed, HubCast will appear as a CRM card on your records. You can access the admin interface by navigating to any contact, company, deal, or ticket record and opening the HubCast card.

Step 2: Choose Your Plan

HubCast offers two tiers:

Free — Perfect for getting started. Includes 1 live cast at a time with standard support.

Pro (£35/month) — For teams ready to scale. Includes unlimited casts, advanced filtering, and priority support.

You can upgrade at any time from the Tier Pro tab in the HubCast admin panel.

Step 3: Create Your First Cast

  1. Open the HubCast admin panel and click + Create.
  2. Write your message in the editor. You can format text using the toolbar buttons — bold, italic, strikethrough, underline, headings, lists, links, and more.
  3. Choose an Alert Type to set the tone of your message: Informational, Guidance, Positive, Warning, or Critical.
  4. Under Object Type, select where this cast should appear — contacts, companies, deals, or tickets. Choose Filter to target specific records based on property values, or select a blanket option (e.g. All Contacts) to broadcast to every record of that type.
  5. Set the Cast Position — Overview (appears on the main record tab) or Sidebar (appears in the right-hand panel).
  6. Click Save cast.

Your cast is saved in an off state by default. When you're ready, toggle it on from the Manage dashboard.

Step 4: Manage Your Casts

Click Manage in the admin panel to see all of your casts in one place. From here you can:

  • Toggle casts on and off — instantly show or hide a cast without deleting it. Useful for seasonal messages, temporary reminders, or campaign-specific announcements.
  • Preview — see exactly how the cast will render on a record before turning it live.
  • Delete — remove a cast you no longer need.

The dashboard shows the status, object type, message preview, position, author, and creation date for every cast.

Using Templates

Don't want to start from scratch? Click Templates in the admin panel to browse ready-made casts across categories including:

  • Events & Celebrations — Holiday greetings, milestone celebrations
  • Client Management — VIP flags, follow-up reminders, positive feedback, onboarding checklists
  • Business Development — Active deal trackers, product launch announcements, partnership opportunities
  • Support & Operations — Special attention flags, issue resolution logs, training opportunities, security alerts

Click Load on any template to pull it into the editor. Edit the content to suit your needs, then save and publish as normal.

Where Do Casts Appear?

Casts render directly on HubSpot records as a CRM card. Depending on your configuration:

  • Overview — The cast appears on the record's main Overview tab, visible as soon as anyone opens the record.
  • Sidebar — The cast appears in the right-hand sidebar panel alongside other CRM cards.

Your team doesn't need to install anything or change how they work. If they can see the record, they'll see the cast.

FAQs

Do my team members need to install anything? No. HubCast is a native HubSpot app. Once installed on your portal, casts are visible to all users with access to the relevant records.

Can I have different casts on different object types? Yes. Each cast is configured independently — you can have a VIP flag on contacts, an onboarding checklist on deals, and a process reminder on tickets, all running simultaneously.

What happens when I toggle a cast off? It's hidden from all records immediately but not deleted. Toggle it back on whenever you need it again.

Can I target specific records rather than all of them? Yes. Use the Filter option when creating a cast to target records based on HubSpot property values. Advanced filtering is available on the Pro plan.

Is there a limit to how many casts I can create? The Free plan allows 1 live cast at a time. Pro gives you unlimited live casts.
